Lapislazuli as pigment born on VI century, and it was used for budist painters. But arrived whith force on XIV and XV centuries, when italian merchants brought it to Europe, but it high cost made it imposibble to use it. It was called ultramarinus color, which means "Beyond the sea". Only the rich people could acces to buy it.
Lapislazuli como pigmento nacio en el siglo VI, y fue usado por pintores budistas. Pero llego con fuerza en los siglos XIV y XV, cuando los mercaderes italianos lo trajeron a Europa, pero su alto costo hizo imposible su uso. Fue llamado azul ultramarino que significa "mas alla del mar". Solo los ricos podian acceder a comprarlo.

Appeared among XIII and XIX centuries, used mainly by chinese art in ceramics and jeweler.
Apareció entre los siglos XIII y XIV, usado principalmente por el arte chino en ceramica y joyeria.

It was an alternative to use ultramarin blue, beacose it was discovered a more pure version on 1802 by a chemistry french and it allowed a more comercial use, painters as Turner, Renoir or Van Gogh choosed to use it
Fue una alternativa para el uso del azul ultramrino, porque fue descubierta una version mas pura en 1802 por un quimico francés y permitió un uso mas comercial, pintores como Turner, Renoir o Van Gogh lo eligieron.
