Every June 17th, Argentina celebrates one  heroe , MARTIN MIGUEL DE GUEMEZ (Day of his death), a general that  stopped the spanish enemy troops in the north of country, with gauchos trained by him, In Province of Salta, first half XIX century. As a representation of America freedom

Cada 17 de junio( Dia de su fallecimiento), se celebra a uno de los heroes, MARTIN MIGUEL DE GÜEMEZ, un general que paró al enemigo español en el norte del pais, con sus gauchos entrenados por el, en la Provincia de Salta, en la primera mitad del siglo XIX.

As parte of the uniform, Güemez dressed their gauchos with a poncho in red. But, later, it  was added  the black colour as a sign for mourning  for the  death of his general.  

This poncho is dressed, usually by women and men, at the present, and is  very expensive

Como parte del uniforme, Güemez vistio a sus gauchos con un poncho colorado. Pero, mas tarde, fue agregado el color negro, como señal de luto por la muerte de su general.

Este poncho es usado, usualmente, por mujeres y hombres, en el presente y es muy costoso.
